At this Meeting of the International Association of Cistercian Lay Communities, our challenge has been to deepen the meaning of Synodality, the foundation and basis of the Rule of St. Benedict and the Charter of Charity, and to commit ourselves to consciously and responsibly initiate the Synodal Path promoted by Pope Francis. The purpose and spirit of our Meeting have been guided by what is emphasized in the preparatory document of the Synod on Synodality:

“… the purpose of the Synod, and therefore of this consultation, is not to produce documents, but to plant dreams, to stir up prophecies and visions, to allow hope to flourish, to inspire confidence, to bind wounds, to weave relationships, to awaken a dawn of hope, to learn from one another and to create a brilliant resource that enlightens minds, warms hearts, that gives strength to our hands.”
